The Business Account Manager (BAM) plays a pivotal field-based role in managing customer relationships and delivering tailored technical solutions. By identifying upselling and cross-selling opportunities, the role drives revenue growth and strengthens customer partnerships. It directly supports the organisation’s commercial objectives and sits at the intersection of sales and technical delivery, acting as a trusted advisor to both new and existing clients.

This role will be based in Perth.

How can you Help us

Customer Engagement & Qualification

  • Secure new business through proactive outreach to outbound R, M & K customers and effective handling of inbound L customer inquiries.
  • Qualify customers and opportunities by understanding their needs, buying processes, and organisational structures, applying the BANT framework to identify key stakeholders and influencers.

Sales Enablement & Opportunity Management

  • Take full ownership of managing, growing, and developing the customer base within the assigned territory.
  • Collaborate with the Technical Service Team to gather customer requirements and  identify appropriate technical solutions.
  • Deliver compelling sales presentations to customers, both in-person and virtually.
  • Prepare budget proposals and quotations, and follow up to progress opportunities through the sales pipeline, including making (minor) revisions where necessary.
  • Conduct follow-up and closing meetings, responding to customer feedback with tailored recommendations.
  • Identify and pursue upselling and cross-selling opportunities to maximise customer value.
  • Represent the company at trade shows and customer events to generate leads and strengthen existing relationships.

Operational Excellence

  • Maintain accurate and timely records across internal systems (CRM & ERP).
  • Actively participate in internal and external meetings as required.

Scope of Impact

  •  Responsible for a defined geographic territory, managing approximately 80–200 customer sites and/or accounts.
  • Directly contributes to regional sales performance and customer satisfaction through technical expertise and relationship management.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven track record in account management, new business development, or sales engineering roles.
  • Ability to identify key stakeholders and build strong, effective working relationships.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify solutions and overcome objections.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the flexibility to adapt style to suit different audiences.
  • Excellent prioritisation, organisational, and time management capabilities.
  • Experience using CRM systems and general IT proficiency.
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate and successfully close deals.
  • Strong commercial awareness and understanding of business drivers.
  • Minimum full C Class Australian drivers’ licence, with a clean record.

 

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience within the industry or a similar technical sales environment.
  • Additional languages, sector experience, etc.

We are looking for a Business Account Manager to join our team looking after the State of Western Australia. 

 The role of Business Account Manager Western Australia is field based role responsible for managing current customers and identifying ways to proactively upsell/cross sell, becoming a value-added partner. This is a Western Australia based role, and you would ideally be located in the Perth area, our offices and warehouse are in Eastern Creek, NSW. 

You will ideally be located in Perth and be expected to visit regionally parts of Western Australia a minimum 4 times each per year (more as required by customers).  Additionally, you will be required to come to Sydney a minimum of 2 times a year for Sales Conferences. You will be supported by the Western Australian Sales Development Executive, located in our Sydney offices.
