The Opportunity 

The ideal candidate will provide financial insights and support to various departments, ensuring accurate reporting and effective control of key financial metrics. This role will require a strong understanding of business finance operations, including fixed asset control, cost management, month end close, budgeting and forecasting.

Key Accountabilities

• Prepare and present monthly financial summaries, highlighting key performance metrics, variances, and trends within the month end deadlines

• Provide clear insights and actionable recommendations to senior management & department heads.

• Lead the preparation and regular update of budgets for your allocated departments, ensuring accuracy and alignment with company objectives

• Conduct regular forecasting to identify financial risks and opportunities, providing actionable insights to management.

• Calculate and monitor run rates to assess business performance against forecasts and budgets.

• Provide financial support in managing headcount, ensuring alignment with business needs and budget constraints.

• Work closely with department heads to ensure efficient headcount forecasting and reporting.

• Produce & Track capex forecasts, ensuring alignment with business plans and objectives.

• Track and report on capex expenditures and ensure they are within approved budgets.

• Collaborate with operations and procurement to optimise stock management and reduce costs.

• Manage the annual insurance renewal process, including obtaining quotes, reviewing coverage, and ensuring adequate protection for the business.

• Track group debt & work with the Commercial BP to ensure overdue debts are managed within the performance reviews.

• Analyse overheads, identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement cost control measures.

• Analyse machine run rates, breakdown costs and assess efficiency in relation to operational goals.

• Balance sheet control of relevant codes

• Mentor & Support 1 direct report

• Assist with various financial projects, reports, and audits as required.

• Any other ad-hoc deliverables 

About you:

Essential

• Relevant qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)

• Strong IT skills, particularly in Excel

• Effective communicator – able to discuss queries or issues with key stakeholders at all levels of the business including Board & C-Suite Level.

• Willingness to try new things, innovative & pioneering approach.

• Enthusiastic team player – able to build constructive relationships with key stakeholders.

• Can work independently as well as part of a team.

• Organised & Deadline Driven
